Sgarbossa has played in 39 games with Lake Erie this season and has collected 37 points (17g/20a), second most on the team.
Carey extended his point streak to seven games – tying the team’s longest of the season. He has collected nine points (5g/4a) in that stretch and now has 31 points (14g/17a) on the year.
The Monsters earned a point on Friday night as they lost 4-3 in a shootout to Texas. Mike Connolly recorded two goals and Brad Malone dished out two assists in the contest. This season, Connolly has 16 points (6g/10a) while Malone has 23 points (10g/13a).
Lake Erie earned a 7-1 victory over Milwaukee on Thursday night in Cleveland. David Van Der Gulik (2g/2a) and Bill Thomas (1g/3a) each tallied four points in the victory.
Van Der Gulik has scored 14 goals and has 16 assists (30 points) for the Monsters this season. Thomas leads the squad in goals (18) and is third on the team with 34 points.
Lake Erie continues an eight-game homestand on Tuesday night against Milwaukee.
Denver’s Saturday night win keeps them in sixth place in the league – one point behind Missouri. The Cutthroats are 26-21-7 (59 points) in their inaugural season in the Central Hockey League.
Goaltender Kieran Millan started both games for the Fish. He recorded 22 saves in the shootout loss on Friday and stopped 35 shots on Saturday night for his 13th win of the season. Despite the 13-12-4-2 record, Milan is still near the top of the league with a 2.69 goals-against average and has a .919 save percentage.
Troy Bourke (Prince George Cougars) has 41 points for the Cougars. He has scored 11 goals and dished out 30 assists.
Duncan Siemens (Saskatoon Blades) leads his squad with a plus-31 and is second on the team with 97 penalty minutes. Siemens has 21 assists and 23 points for the Blades.
Garrett Meurs (Plymouth Whalers) had his four-game point streak snapped on Sunday. Meurs had tallied eight points (4g/4a) in four consecutive games before the streak came to an end. Meurs has 51 points (24g/27a) for the Whalers this year.
Mitchell Heard (Plymouth Whalers) has scored two goals in his last two games and has recorded points in five consecutive games dating back to Feb. 16. Over that span, Heard has seven points (2g/5a).
Joseph Blandisi (Ottawa 67’s) had a goal and two assists in his previous three games. On the season, Blandisi has 18 points (5g/13a) in 18 games played with Ottawa.
