More than 25,000 new and gently used sports equipment, $11,000 in cash donations and $30,000 in scholarship funds were collected at Pepsi Center on Saturday, Sept. 8, to benefit "A Precious Child" and the "Jessica Ghawi Scholarship Fund."

The collection drive was hosted by Kroenke Sports Charities and the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and Altitude Sports and Entertainment. Avalanche goaltender Jean Sebastien-Giguere and defenseman Jan Hejda were on hand to help, as were several current and former Denver Nuggets players and Jamie Shewchuk from the Colorado Mammoth.
